• reorganisation of company controlling
• reorganisation of company headquarter (profit centre)
• innovative marketing strategy
• implementation of business reengineering projects

Derag Hotel and Living originated in property development. The name "Derag" derives from "Deutsche Realbesitz AG". Derag Group, established in Munich in 1951, has built public and commercial buildings as well as coordination and marketing work like city development projects  and general project management. Altogether the company has built more than 75 000 flats in Germany, Austria and Italy.  Examples are the Olympic Village in and the housing estate Dantepark in Munich as well as the Sieveringer Straße in Vienna.

The Hotel Group Derag Hotel and Living [top]

The brand name Derag Hotel and Living, a company of the Derag group, emerged in the early 1980s. The American serviced-apartment-concept as "temporary living" was adapted to European requirements and was realised in the first hotel, "Max Emanuel" in Munich.

With more than 2200 rooms Derag Hotel and Living today is among the 25 biggest hotel enterprises in Germany (source: NGZ-Der Hotelier) and is market leader for "extended stays". With a very good price-value relationship Derag Hotel and Living offers outstanding hotel comfort and services for short, medium and long term stay.

As part of the growth strategy, 4 new premises in Berlin, Munich and Weimar opened their  doors in 1999. After extensive renovation works, Derag Hotel and Living opened its 11th house in Bonn with a capacity of 100 apartments and 30 hotel rooms.

Derag Hotel and Living continues its strategy of growth in the future. Our ambitious goals include the development of further national and international locations as well as the strengthening of the market leadership in the "temporary living" segment.

All locations have been chosen in respect to easy access to the city centres, motorways and public transport. In January 2003 Derag Hotel and Living is running 10 premises with 2200 rooms and 2904 beds.

Target Market [top]

Our main target market in the apartment segment are business travellers and 2-city-commuters who stay on business for extended periods of time in a city. Furthermore people who are moving home and plan on extended stays. The hotels are aiming at the "classic" hotel guest of city hotels in the upper segment.
